Traveling Hopefully

Therese Jost

I met an interesting couple today in the centre of Basel.  Therese Jost and her traveling partner have just returned from a one year cycling tour, during which time they journeyed through the Balkans, Turkey and the Middle East before looping back to Switzerland via the Pyrenees in Spain.  Therese told me that she is starting a new job at the end of the summer.  Not her partner, though.  He’s planning to go off on his bike for another year!

GP Sälipark 2013

Today I spent a couple of hours in nearby, sunny Olten, Switzerland, watching the élite men’s race at the GP Sälipark 2013.

This popular annual event is essentially a criterium consisting of one hundred 850m laps around the side streets of Olten, with points awarded for sprints every ten laps.GP Saelipark 2013 Image 5-impHere are the results and some images.
